Red Kelly is a true legend. Not many players thrive like he did when switching positions between defence and forward. He was a game changer, a speedster, a great playmaker and shooter, a smart checker and a man worth wearing the "C", whether he actually did or not. An innovator, a role model, a fighter, a leader, and a man of great heart and intellect. As a coach, he made his players better. He was a motivator, and he was a teacher. There were likely 3 or 4 different reasons that could have been reason enough to put him in the Hall of Fame. He will be missed.

He will get 10 million minimum in my opinion. Would be nice if he signed for 9.5m though since he hasn't proven hes a better winger than Kucherov or Kane. But because he plays for Toronto and the media hypes him up screwing our franchise over big time. He will likely get around 12 million lol its ridiculous...

I think just slightly under Matthews....maybe 6 x 10 or 5 x 10.5. Somewhere in that neighborhood. But, make no mistake. There is a sect of the Leaf base that truly are expecting long term at 8 or 9. Most are realistic and know it HAS to come in 10 or more....and 6 years or 5. It just struck me funny today when I heard this guy talking about the "Home-town" discount of 8 million or so Marner was surely gonna do.

(Cuz I surely know...Kane and Toews didn't discount us several years ago....lol)
